(September 15, 2012) - The Marin FC '96 Boys head into their high school seasons on a high note, coming off a successful summer of tournament play. In addition to winning one of the county's most prestigious tournaments for club teams, the Surf Cup in San Diego over the last weekend in July, a week later they followed up by notching three straight victories at the Mustang showcase in Danville.
Over the course of seven games, the team outscored its opponents 32-7. Teddy Mauze and Eloi Vasquez led all scorers (12 goals between them at Surf Cup), while Josh Williams anchored the defense, recording 4 clean sheets over the two weekends of play.
Most of the boys play in Marin schools, Tamalpais High, Terra Linda High, Marin Academy, Branson, Novato High, San Rafael High. Other schools represented are San Francisco's University High, Lick-Wilmerding, and Sacred Heart.
Other notable performers over the two weekends of play were center backs Peter Krebs and Parker Walls, flanked by wing backs Wyatt Kim and Daniel Wong, and holding midfielder Lucas Janetos, who is also on the Western Regional ODP Team.
Mauze and Vasquez were supported in attack by Rogelio Brambilia, Alan Estrada, and Cylus Sandoval, all of whom netted for the team.
Marin is coached by Jon Delano, who doubles as head coach of Dominican University's mens and women's teams.
